Wow, I can't believe I actually got this blog to work! It's been an incredible journey, spanning many months and consuming way too much of my free time. And guess what? It's finally live! (*Edit: The blog is now configured for mobile view.) When I embarked on this adventure, I knew it would be a challenge, but little did I know the exhilarating ride that awaited me. Recently, I completed the Udemy course "Python Django - The Practical Guide," as recommended by a close friend who's a seasoned software engineer. Let me tell you, that course was a game-changer! It provided a hands-on, practical approach to building Django web applications. Django, a free and open-source framework, has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for me in the realm of web development. And what better way to dive in than by building a blog from scratch?

As for setting up my Django web app on an AWS server... well, let's just say it was an adventure in itself! The video tutorial made it look like a piece of cake, but reality hit hard. Configuring the settings, databases, and web servers felt like scaling a mountain! And just when I thought I had conquered it all, I hit a roadblock. My static files (you know, all the styling) refused to cooperate. Three nights of relentless troubleshooting, diving into forums, and deciphering error logs later, I finally cracked the code. Turns out, it was just one line of configuration that was missing. Phew! But you know what? Every challenge I faced only fueled my determination further. It's all part of the adventure, right? Just a man and his machine, battling through the twists and turns of web development. GG Django. GG.

And now, for the cherry on top of this already amazing journey: I recently made a life-changing decision to quit my full-time job and pursue my lifelong dream of traveling the world with my beautiful girlfriend Thalia. Yes, you heard that right! Three months in South America, followed by three months in Europe. It's the adventure of a lifetime, and we couldn't be more excited! But hey, just because I'm globe-trotting doesn't mean I'm putting my coding skills on hold. Oh no, far from it! I'm committed to keeping this blog alive and kicking, constantly improving the UI/UX to make it an epic journey for our readers. So, to all you wonderful folks out there reading this (all two of you if I'm lucky), buckle up! This project is just getting started, and trust me, it's going to be one hell of a ride. Until then, enjoy the basic blog that's breaking free from the corporate shackles of Wordpress/Wix/Squarespace. Everything you see here? It's all me, baby!
